Recitation:
There are many recitation sections available. For detailed information on
recitation sections and availability, you can look up CS101 sections at the OSU
Schedule of Courses website.
Recitation Information/Lab Activities:
During lab sessions you will be working on activities. Follow the instructions for submitting activities carefully.
Make sure you keep a copy of the files you create in the provided memory
(user’s storage space).
Suggestion (highly recommended): Read and begin (if possible) activities before
coming to recitation.
Hands-On (Recitations):
The foundation of your hands-on work will center around the following:
- Netscape is a Web browser that
simplifies Internet navigation.
- Microsoft Office is an integrated software
application that will introduce you to the fundamentals of word
processing with Word, spreadsheets with Excel, and presentation with
PowerPoint presentation applications.
- Photoshop a photo manipulation software.

your recitation projects.

If you are satisfied with your grade from the work
you accomplished during the term, you can choose to skip the final exam. No
make up exams will be given, no exceptions. This allows you to miss a
test during the term and still do well in the class. If you miss a midterm,
you are required to take the final.
Help:
Computer labs are staffed by paid consultants and lab assistants who can
answer many of your questions. Lab personnel are explicitly instructed not to
help students who expect the lab personnel to do the assignment.
If you need more help than the lab personnel are able to give, try
to schedule your study time in labs when one of the CS 101 TAs is holding
office hours there. Working in groups with your classmates is encouraged.
However, there's a clear line between asking another student to explain a
concept and copying that student's work and turning it in as your own.
As a courtesy to other students and the instructor, please leave
your cell phones and pagers OFF while you are in the classroom.
