Introductions

Please make an introduction for yourself. If your name does not already appear on the following list, then edit this page, and add your name, in alphabetical order, using the format shown. (That is, make a separate line with a dot, followed by the word Profiles, a slash, then your name surrounded with two square brackets). Then save the page, click on your name, and add your introductory essay. Fill in your name in the "Author" box that is shown below the edit area.

What are you interested in? No, make that stronger, what are you passionate about? For almost any topic of interest there are related open source projects. But the first step is to do a bit of introspection, and determine what ideas really excite your interest. Reflect a bit on this, then tell us what you decide. It might be related to your major, your hobbies, your friends, whatever.

You can then go on to introduce yourself in any fashion you want. Why did you become interested in computer science? What are your hobbies? What do you want to do after graduation?

In a separate paragraph, describe your programming skills. What languages do you know? How many years experience do you have with each? What programming platforms (Windows, Unix, Mac OSX, and so on) have you used? Do you have any previous experience with open source development? In what capacity?

If you have a web page or external links the sample student "Robin Smith" will illustrate how these can be included in your page.
