HW #2: IRB Certification for Ethical Treatment of Human Subjects

Due date: See class schedule page
Note: This is an individual assignment, not a team assignment

Take and pass the IRB course (Human Subjects Protection) at the CITI site, which is linked from the IRB ethics training page below. It's a simple course with small quizzes at the end of each part. After you have passed, take a screenshot showing that you have completed all parts of it, and that you passed every part with a score of 80% or higher. Turn in the pdf file using TEACH. If you already have a certificate, then you can turn in a pdf of it. (You don't need to bring a hardcopy of this one.)

Note: A certificate if it offers one is fine, or turn in a screen shot showing completion, with at least 80% on every portion of it.

Note: If the site asks you for money, you've done the wrong thing. There is nothing you need to pay for.

Exception:
If you previously passed some other IRB training course about ethical treatment of human subjects, it's fine for you to turn in an electronic copy of that certificate instead.

How to turn it in:
Submit the certificate you received or a screenshot showing proof of passing it (.png, .jpg, .pdf file) electronically.

Grading criteria:

If you submit the certification/screenshot, you get full credit. Otherwise no credit.

If you have trouble navigating to the right place, see the figures below (shots are from my visits to their site Jan. 2017 and Jan. 2019).
