Course overview: This course provides an introduction to autonomous agents, and multiagent systems. Covered topics include game theory, swarms, auctions, and collectives. Because this course covers a constantly evolving field, there will be a significant reading component in addition to the regular lectures. This course will also emphasize communication skills and will require students to discuss the papers theyve read and do a presentation based on their class project.

Prerequisites:

Textbook: An Introduction to Multiagent Systems, Michael Wooldridge, Wiley.

Grading :
Class Participation 10%
Homework/Paper Presentations 20%
Midterm 30%
Final Project 40%

Students with Disabilities: Accommodations are collaborative efforts between students, faculty and Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD). Students with accommodations approved through SSD are responsible for contacting the faculty member in charge of the course prior to or during the first week of the term to discuss accommodations. Students who believe they are eligible for accommodations but who have not yet obtained approval through SSD should contact SSD immediately at 737-4098.

Academic Dishonesty: You are permitted, and to a great extent encouraged, to work with others on homework sets. However, there is an obvious difference between constructive discussion of a particular problem and copying. Acts of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated and will be handled according to university policy. (See http://oregonstate.edu/admin/stucon/achon.htm for details.)
